Terms and Conditions

Bookings

 

1.1 Booking with Nineteen Fifty Eight verbally, by phone, Internet or any other method of communication constitutes you having read, understood and agree to the following terms and conditions.

 

1.2 All goods remain the property of Nineteen Fifty Eight

 

1.3 All efforts have been made to represent our items accurately in our photographs, however sometimes there may be slight discrepancies with colour due to different monitors showing different saturation and photographs being taken in different lighting and we cannot be held accountable for this. Every care is taken to provide the items as you expect them.

 

1.4 When entering into this agreement, you the hirer, agreed to be bound by the terms within.

These are the only terms and conditions upon which will form a binding contract with you. We reserve the right to alteration or substitution to these terms and conditions, please check these regularly and contact us in writing if you would like to discuss this.

 

Payments

 

2.1 All items hired require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of the booking to secure the order. If the delivery date is within 4 weeks of placing your booking, full payment will be required unless otherwise arranged.

 

2.2 The balance of the complete cost of the hire is due for payment 4 weeks prior to the hire date on the booking form. The preferred method of payment is by credit card or debit card either online via PayPal or in person where applicable. We are happy to accept payment by bank transfer also. If the balance payment is not received within the set timeframe we reserve the right to withdraw our acceptance of your booking. Delivery will not be made without payment of the full invoiced balance and security deposit.

 

2.3 If you wish to arrange an extended hire longer than the contracted period of 1 day, please contact us in advance to check the availability of the products and also the costs for the extended hire.

 

2.4 We do not accept refunds for any items that are returned unused.

 

 

Security Deposit

 

3.1 A security deposit must be provided with the balance payment 4 weeks prior to the hire date. The sum of money is dependant upon the value of the goods being supplied and is held as a deposit against the safe and prompt return of the goods under hire. This will be discussed when placing your booking.

 

 

Delivery

 

4.1 It is your responsibility to check that all booked hire items have been received and to notify us immediately if any discrepancies. 

 

4.2 The client must provide Nineteen Fifty Eight with correct up to date contact details when booking. It is your responsibility to ensure there is legal parking available to carry out the delivery and collection. We will not be held responsible for any costs incurred out of the necessity to park or if we are unable to deliver the items due to a lack of legal parking. This cost will be invoiced to the client and payment will need to be made within 14 days. Any person signing a delivery/collection on behalf of the hirer will need to be authorised by us prior to the event taking place.

 

4.3 Dependant on the location of the event, you may be subject to a delivery charge. Contact us for more information regarding the areas we cover.

 

 

Styling and Set Up

 

5.1 Nineteen Fifty Eight is not an Event Planning company, we are a Hire Only service and are not responsible to for setting up any hired items unless prior arrangement has been made. 

 

5.2 On the day of Hire please ensure all tables have the correct linen and are ready to be dressed where necessary. 

 

5.3 Our chair covers are available on a DIY hire service only unless otherwise arranged and it is the clients responsibility to make sure someone is on hand at the venue to dress the chairs. If there is an issue and any chair covers do need to be put on by us, there will be an additional charge of 50p chair cover which will be deducted from your security deposit.

 

 

Damages

 

5.1 All hire items remain in the ownership of the Nineteen Fifty Eight, however the client is responsible for looking after the items during the hire period. The client therefore must make every effort to ensure that the items are kept in a secure place, treated with respect and kept clean and dry.

 

5.2 The client named on the booking is solely responsible for the hired items. The items hired are the responsibility of the client from the time of delivery to the venue until the time they have been collected by us. 

 

5.3 The replacement cost of all losses and damages will be taken form the security deposit. Where the cost is greater than the security deposit and additional payment will be required with 14 days of the invoice date. Failure to make this payment will result in referral to a debt collection agency where further fees may apply.

 

 

Liability

 

6.1 We are not responsible for any injury or damage to any persons, property, animals, or objects from the use of any items under hire. We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss, damage or additional costs that may arise as a result of the use of our hire items. Once we have set up any items they should not be moved to avoid this.

 

 

Cancellations

 

7.1 If wish to cancel your order we need this in writing. Please email us at info@nineteenfiftyeight.co.uk in the first instance. All cancellations or reductions in numbers of items to be hired must then be confirmed in writing and will only become effective on receipt of your cancellation email or letter.

 

7.2 Cancellation charges will incur based upon the value of the outstanding balance. This amount will depend on the length of notice we receive from you regarding the cancellation fo your booking.

 

7.3 For cancellations made from 4 weeks prior to the date of hire will be exempt from a cancellation charge. However your 50% deposit is non-refundable but no additional charge will be required. 

 

7.4 Any cancellations made less than 4 weeks prior to the date of hire will be charged at 75% of the contracted hire fee.

 

7.5 All cancellations made within 7 days of the delivery date will be charged at 100% of the contracted hire fee.

 

 

Privacy Policy

 

8.1 Nineteen Fifty Eight does not sell, trade or rent your information to third parties.

 

8.2 Use of the Nineteen Fifty Eight website does not require you to disclose any personal information unless you make an enquiry or contact us directly via email.

 

8.3 Nineteen Fifty Eight treats all personal information you provide in accordance with the provisions of the data protection act of 1998 and will only use the information you supply via this website to contact you in connection with services provided and/or to respond to requests you have made to provide any desired information.
